What we repair
Seven areas,
one workshop
Most repairs start with a question: what is the car actually doing? We look at that first, so the repair fixes the cause rather than the symptom.
Choose the area closest to your problem. We'll open the repair selector with it already chosen.
Repair selector
What's the car
doing?
Choose the area that fits best and tell us what you've noticed. It goes straight into your request. It doesn't diagnose the car.
01Area of concern
02What you've noticed (optional)
Brakes
Tell us what you're noticing: noise, vibration, a soft pedal or the car pulling to one side. We'll check the pads, discs, calipers and fluid, then explain what we find before quoting.
If the brakes feel very different from normal or a brake warning light is on, don't drive the car until it's been checked. Call us on 01494 725498.
Clutch or gearbox
Slipping under power, a high or heavy biting point, judder when pulling away or noisy gear changes. We'll check the clutch and gearbox before recommending anything.
Tyres
Worn tread, a slow puncture, a bulge in the sidewall or a vibration at speed. Tell us the tyre size if you know it, and we'll supply and fit the right ones.
Steering, tracking or suspension
Pulling to one side, the steering wheel sitting off-centre, tyres wearing on one edge, or knocks over bumps. We'll check the steering and suspension and set the tracking if it's out.
Exhaust
Louder than usual, rattling or blowing. We'll inspect the system and quote for the repair.
If you can smell exhaust fumes inside the car, open the windows and get it checked as soon as possible.
Warning light or engine fault
Tell us which light is on, whether it stays on or comes and goes, and how the car is driving. We find the cause before changing any parts.
Not sure
That's fine. Describe what the car is doing and when it happens, and we'll suggest where to start.

questions

Can you give me a price over the phone?
For some jobs we can give you an idea, but most repairs need the car looking at first. We'll explain what we've found and what it will cost before any work starts.
Which cars do you repair?
Most makes of car and light van, older cars included. If parts are hard to find, we'll keep you posted while we track them down.
Do you fit tyres?
Yes. We supply, fit and balance tyres in our own workshop, and can check the tracking at the same time.
There's a warning light on. Where do I start?
Choose "Warning light or fault" in the repair selector, or call us. We find the cause before we change any parts.
