What we collect
When you send an enquiry through the form on this website, we collect the details you enter:
- your name, phone number and email address, and how you'd prefer us to contact you
- your vehicle registration, and its make and model if you add them
- the service you'd like, a preferred date, and anything you tell us about the car
- whether you'd like a reminder when your next MOT is due
The tools on our service pages, such as the service planner, the repair selector or the MOT checklist, only pass details into the enquiry form when you choose to continue. Nothing is sent to us until you submit the form.
The registration panel on our homepage adds your registration to the enquiry form. It doesn't look the vehicle up.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to your booking request, talk through the work your car needs, arrange a date and, if you go ahead, carry out and record the work. If you tick the MOT reminder box, we also use your details to remind you when your next MOT is due.
Our lawful basis is that you've asked us to respond, and that this is a step towards the work you're asking about. MOT reminders are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by telling us. We don't use your details for marketing.
We only use Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies. That's based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Cookie settings.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only where it's needed to deal with your enquiry or run this website:
- Wix hosts this website and stores the enquiries sent through our form.
- Google provides Google Analytics. It only receives information about your visit if you accept analytics cookies.
- The DVSA receives your vehicle's MOT test result, as the law requires of every MOT test centre.
Parts of this website load content from other providers:
- Google Maps shows our location on the contact page and in the footer.
- Elfsight shows our Google reviews on the homepage.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces used on the site.
These providers may receive technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, when their content loads. Their own privacy policies explain how they use it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and for [CONFIRM: retention period for enquiries and customer records].
Cookies and storage
While you browse, this website keeps the details you've entered in the enquiry form, such as your registration and the service you chose, in your browser's session storage. That way you don't have to type them twice. They're removed when you close the tab or send the form.
The enquiry form uses a temporary access token, stored in your browser, so it can send your enquiry to us securely.
